My dad has just started taking this med for his type 2 diabetes. Does anyone have good things to say about this med? He seems to have a few side effects from it. He is tired and his vision is a little blurred. If anyone has input it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
hamrickm :D

You increase your risk of developing lactic acidosis if you take this drug and drink alcohol. This is fatal in up to 50% of cases, so it's very serious.

I have been taking Metformin 1000 mg for the past nine months with no problems. I am not a drinker, for what it's worth. The Metformin has helped, but I need to continue to get portions under control at meals. And, as noted elsewhere by others, I love red meat. Poooeyyyyyyy!!:upset:
