I have been feeling so tired for the past few weeks. I feel like someone or something has run me over with a truck and I can't get back up. No energy for nothing. I have been eating alot and I don't eat like this. I have had some ploblems with my vision. I have blurred spots in front of my eyes. I have been going to the bathroom like crazy and not getting enought to drink at all. The past few days I have been feeling like I might fall or pass out. I don't understand whats going on. I have been trying to read up all this stuff. Both my grandmothers had diabetes and my uncle found out he has type 1 as well. Can someone help me understand..is it diabetes? I would like to know if these are some of the symptoms. If there is anything else that you can help me with to answer this, I would greatly appreciate it.

I am not qualified to give any type of diagnosis, but you should make an appointment with a doctor and get some bloodwork done. In the meantime, if you know somebody with a glucometer, I would ask for them to test it. They are all signs of high blood sugars. Before I was diagnosed I was going to the bathroom a million times a day, I didn't have a huge appetite though, and I had no energy and just slept all day.
Hope that helps.

I remember right before my father was diagnosed---he was thirsty all the time.
I have high blood pressure and I know those symptoms also go with that, but I must admit sometimes I wonder if I am heading down the diabetes path also, as I had gestational diabetes, there is a family history, and I am overweight.

I have to reiterate what the previous replies said. You are going to have to make an appointment and get checked out one way or another to start ruling things out. It has a lot of symptoms that scream diabetes related but diabetes is not the only thing that causes those symptoms. Good Luck I hope everything works out.

Before my father in law was diagnosed with diabetes, he was thirsty all the time and was so tired that he would fall asleep within minutes of sitting down. We actually was afraid he had that sleeping disease, we hadn't even thought of diabetes. After he lost a lot of weight, his diabetes went away.

My roommate tests like he doesn't have diabetes when he gets control of his diet and weight but he slips from his healthy routine and is back in the red immediately. It says a lot about healthy lifestyle.

Yes, the healthy lifestyle means a lot and from what I understand--people who are in the pre--diabetes stage can pull themselves out quickly by watching their diet.
I guess that is why going to the doctors for early detection is a good thing--something I should follow..lol

You and the rest of us :-) Some times it takes a while to sink in though with the rush of life and everything else going on around us.

Yes, it does take time for it to sink in. You would think the fact that my grandmother died from diabetes and my father also has diabetes. Plus, I had gestational diabetes--you would think it would be easy for me to watch it--but food for me isn't just survival--it is also and emotional addiction--so I have many struggles going on.

It will be nice for you take a test instead of predicting what is going to come. Sometimes your prediction turn out to be wrong so it is always better to had clarified.
