Anyone else start the ol' holiday shopping yet? I started last week (yay!) and things are starting to arrive already. How much of your shopping for gifts do you do online? This year it will probably be 75 or 80% for me.

Bah Humbug!
I need to make an oak fireplace surround and a cherry mission style queen size bed for my daughter and all I have so far is a stack of rough lumber in the shop.

I'm the biggest procrastinator in the world, guess this year wont be any different. Most of the family is pretty easy to buy for and the kids always like free furniture so hopefully I can get everything finished on time.

The first part of your response made me chuckle. :) The furniture sounds wonderful and I hope you'll get it all finished in time... what great gifts!

I think I can get it all done if I can just get my butt in gear.
I'll take a few pictures when they're done if they turn out good:)http://oldtoolsforsale.com/smiley15/xmas40.gif

I'm glad I got so much of my shopping done. I sure didn't feel much like shopping this week so far. :)

Well Christmas is over and I did finish all my projects. Here's a picture of the cherry bed I made my daughter.

For this year I am going to really try and pick a few things up throughout the year so it helps a bit more at Christmas time. My children are now teenagers and their toys are a lot more expensive

This is going to be a very lean year for us. I'm trying to line up projects we can make or purchase inexpensively and customize for gifts.

For instance, The kids and I made mitten puppets for their cousin's birthday. Net cost to us was about $3 for the eyes.
