I sort of turned myself into an exercise junkie after I was diagnosed. Now with winter coming on it will be lots of times when cycling or walking will not be feasible.

I set up an exercise room at home with several different machines that I picked up on the cheap from thrift stores.

I got a nice electronic treadmill with power incline. $30

A 150lb universal weight machine with low pulley, high pulley, peck deck, and leg attachment. $50

One of the newer versions of the total gym that you see chuck norris selling on the info commercials. (A great little machine that will really give you a good workout.) $25

A nice pro weight bench with 200lbs of cast iron weights. $35

A super "Tunturi" ergometer/stationary bike. $10

A nice rowing machine with digital screen that measures pulse as well as repetitions. $10

I hate paying retail for anything. If you're interested in some exercise stuff, check out your local thrift stores such as Salvation army(tend to be cheaper on gym stuff than goodwill) Goodwill thrift stores.

The smaller the store usually relates to a better price due to space limitations on the sales floor.

A lot of the big regional enclosed malls sponsor exercise groups in the day-time (when there are not that many shoppers.)
You really don't have to buy an Exercise Machine or equipment to get started.
Let me think about this and I will report back to you.

Right there's what I need... mine burned up recently. :( What a GREAT idea you had here! I wouldn't be able to do the weight machine due to a shoulder problem, but we used to have a gym like this years ago. We had the weight training system with stepper, an exercise bike, treadmill, and ski machine. I really should get myself in gear and get something set up again.

I wish I had room for more stuff. Our local SPCA has a huge rummage sale here that lasts for 2 weeks and they had a ton of exercise stuff left yesterday at half price.
I'm beginning to understand why women need so many shoes, with me it's exercise equipment and tools. :)

Hehe Very true. Gosh, I wish I could have made it to that sale! There is some equipment that I'd truly love to own again but if it needs to be full price, I'm afraid I'll be waiting for a while. :(

I guess i could have a large place for storing the goods. But next year i am going to enlarge the room for more products to be stored.

indoor exercise

- video tapes
- stationary bycicle
- indoor gym
- indoor swimming

you also go for walks or jogs outside, if you dress warm enough

I have a treadmill, gazelle, ab machine but I usually just hall my weights out to the living room and do sets as I watch television

I bought a used Nordic Track ski machine. It was a bit of a learning curve, but I've been doing 20 minutes a day on it.

DH is much better at it than I am. He's really been enjoying it a lot. It's very quiet, so he's been hopping on it two or three times a day for 15-20 minutes. I was really surprised because he never liked the treadmill or bike.

It does take up a lot of space, though.
