at home A1C tests are becoming more popular than ever before. with medical care becoming aproblem for many poor people, at home A1C is allowing proactive diabetics to take their own care into tehir own hands.
By doing this they can monitor how well they are doingw ihtout the need to go to their doctor for a three month test,a nd it allows them to bring resukts immedately to their doctors.
becaus eof this, more proactive pateints are reaching the goals of 6.5-6.8 A1C for type 2s.
there are more home tests available inthe new future as well.

I think being at home and be able to do your test is so much more easiar and to me less stressful.
This sounds like good information even though I am not familiar with it. We do not have insurance for the diabetic visits to the office and I don't know if we would still be able to afford this home treatment.

this not atreatment.. I just wanted to clear this up. Its a self test to let you and your doctor know how well you are doing.
You can get A1C self tests now at Walgreeens, CVS, online.
there aer a few companies that make it and prices vary from 12.00 per test to 22.00 per test. A far cry from the 50-120 dollars per test.
I saw it onsale at Walgrens last week for 9 dollars.
Its worth it.
I amlookinginto other at home tests that you can kep copies and send it to your doctor.
I know o fChemstrip 10s, whoich do all urine analysis.. but these run 1.00 per strip. s a big bottle is expensive and insurance does not civer them as of right now. But I am looking into small vials and lab brands insetad of name brands.
the closest I came was a bottle of 100 strips for 65 dollars.
Okay sorry about that, but when you use this type of testing you will be adjusting your medicine yourself then?

Not having a doctor just a prescribing nurse practitiner makes it abit hard. The general ground rules are that you dont adjust your medictaion unles syou have a weight loss.
Since meds are adjusted and prescribed by weight.
For me i adjust my insulin by my weight at .05 per Kg of body weight. and I adjust my diet more for protein secretions.
If my A1C or at home blood work comes back great I just keep doing what I am doing so one day when I do get a doctor I can have a record of how well I am doing.
