Hi all!

We all know that diabetes is a disease that has impact on the vital parts of the body and can take the gloss out of our lives if not treated/managed early.

Do you have a family history of diabetes? If yes, Be a sport and get yourself checked.

It's good to get yourself checked if diabetes runs in your family. It's not necessary for you to have diabetes simply because it is there in your family. Even if you have it, you can manage it with the help of diet, exercise and medicine.

It's better to get diagnosed than deny. Who knows your test results may say negative to diabetes?

There is still a small problem with getting tested. Doctors are becoming benign to it, with the high incidence of metabolic syndronm, or pre diabetes. MAny true diabetics are going undiagnised and without medication.

Even doctors that know long term family history dont always take that ito consideration, and many times pateints who harp or continue to ask are left unheard.
I do agree get tested, I do agree whole heartadly. and am in agreement,. If y ou sspect, and your doctor wont do anything become proactive, Take matter into your own hands!
Glucose meters are available wihtout prescription. And you can learn,w itha variety fo self management books that are out on teh market how to control and monitor yourself. You take that informationw ith you to your doctor and show him proof!

Yes, show him proof. Jeez whiz, if you have to convince your doctor it is not your job. He should be explaining your possible conditions to you!

Report him to his peers or something. I hate when doctors take the non chalant attitude when we are telling them what we believe is wrong with us. Especially when we have the internet to help us learn a few things.
