I know they don't but Medicare should pay for insulin. There are enough insulin dependent people in this country that insulin should be covered.

I thought that Medicare catered to the older citizens in our country, but I received a cold call from a Medicare customer service representative the other day. I think it was them or AARP. They seemed surprised that I was young, but then said that they could offer products for younger folks as well.

As far as I know, Medicare will only allow you to sign up if you are 65 or disabled. I am disabled, and am in my late 40's. I was in the military, so I had to drop Medicare, as I get medical services through the V.A.

I am not sure about this being the case where we live. I do know that my son is disabled and he is only 16months and he receives Medicaid not Medicare... I simply find it hard to believe that Medicare does not provide insulin..This being a program to help maintain proper healthcare it is crazy that they don't provide such a necessary medication.
