Father Diagnosed

My father had a heart attack last year, and now has been diagnosed with Type 2. He is able to control it with diet, but after the dietary changes from his heart attack he is bristling!

My uncle was diagnosed exactly the same way about 6 months ago... the only advice i can offer is to give him as much support as you can (obviously) . Sometimes just having a conversation about it can help. not only for the person who has diabetes but also for relatives and friends... alot of people dont know what diabetes is and are scared to talk to anybody who has it..

My uncle lost a couple of friends because they where too scared to come round and talk to him about it..

its a strange world but a bit of education or a quiet word in the right ear can make all the difference

Thanks for the advice. My dad is getting a lot of support from my mom, and his friends. And of course my sisters and me. We are all scattered around the country but we do what we can.
