Do you know of any insurance company who will be willing to take you on as a client after you have been diagnosed with diabetes?

Have you tried Unicare? They were willing to accept me, but I'm Insulin Resistent (or Glucose Intolerant according to one Dr.), not full-blown diabetic. They did have a two year exclusion for anything related to it, but most insurance has that.

I don't know if this insurance company covers where you live, but have you tried Bluecross Blue Shield.

We are self-employed but are insured with Beech Street through IMED. Their insurance is largely for major medical. They give you 50 dollars for each of 3 office visits a year. They don't pay much at all, unless you have a major medical issue. However, the pharmacy is thorugh Regence and it's pretty good if you can get generics for everything you need. Lantus is 85, generics are $15 or less. Call them at 1-800-753-1000. They have a 12 month pre-existing waiting period. They aren't that good but when you have diabetes it makes one desparate; that's where I'm at.

The best way to get insurance as a person with diabetes is through a group insurance policy through work.
I know that having a chronic health condition like diabetes makes it difficult to get insurance individually if not down right impossible.
Keep hunting, I hope you find it!

How do you land a job when you need to admit, up front, that you have a disability? They are bound o find out when you apply for health insurance, and might not feel safe having hired you.
Couldn't an employer say that you got the job under false pretenses?
