http://www.americandiabeteswholesale.com/images/newsletters/Dr-Joi-Sutton.jpgWith the advent of pet glucose monitors like the AlphaTrak, fewer veterinarians are having their veterinary clients check their pet’s urine glucose levels. Certainly, urine glucose levels do not provide the accuracy of a blood glucose value, but there still are situations that warrant checking a pet’s urine glucose. Whether it is because a pet owner can’t physically manage a glucometer or if a cat has gone into remission from diabetes, I do still think urine glucose monitoring (http://www.americandiabeteswholesale.com/product/purina-feline-urinary-glucotest_2301.htm) has a place in managing pet diabetes.
