just take3 a look down the salad dressing isle and youll see what I sm tslking about. Fat free low calorie dressing has more carbohydrate than standard roiginal. TAke for example Kraft Classic French. This version has about 2 garms of carbihydrate per serving and their fat free has 11 grams per serving. Toa diabetic thgsi is important, that while your not getting as much fat you are increasing your carbohydarte intake.

The same with Candy, yes you can eat candy. Look for candy that is REAL, not sugar free or low carb.
look for candy that has a low carbohydrate count not that it says low carb on teh label.
And yes in diabetic Sugar Alcohol is a false sense. Sugar Alcohols still act on the body teh same way as sugars do.

So dont be fooled by Sugar Free.. look for REAL FOODs and be wise when it comes to counting carbohyadrte requirements.

Thank you for the information. After reading the article, I was curious about what sugar alcohol is. So I researched. Here's what I've found from Laura Dolson's article.

What are sugar alcohols?
Sugar alcohols are carbohydrates which are also called “polyols." Part of their chemical structure resembles sugar, and part of it resembles alcohol -- hence the confusing name. Examples of common sugar alcohols are maltitol, sorbitol, isomalt, and xylitol.
Where do sugar alcohols come from?
Sugar alcohols occur naturally in plants. Some of them are extracted from plants (sorbitol from corn syrup and mannitol from seaweed), but they are mostly manufactured from sugars and starches.
