I had blood work done last week at my Endocrinologist's and asked them to check my meter. They did my blood work and then I did my blood sugar and they wrote down my number.
My number from my meter was 85 and theirs from the lab was 81. My Endo was happy with that.
It really is the best way to know if your meter is close to the lab your dr uses.

I had lab results and they ahd tehir meter which was an accucheck, there meter ran very high as compared to my meter and the lab results.
They were a bit annoyed at this becaus ethis meter is the one that the Tenncare insurance pays for and it was reading way different, almost 100 points different from lab and my Freestyle.
Thast enough fo an error for major complications.

You are right Julie, that is way too much of a difference.
You know it could have been just that meter that was off, not the entire brand. I've sent meters back that were still under warranty and told them the problem and they've given me a new one. It might be worth trying another accu chek just in case that was the problem since your insurance covers them.
The meter I had tested was an accu chek that tested within 4 points of what the drs lab did.
