View Full Version : Warning Signs
Hi, What are the significant warning signs about pre diabetes. I have not noticed any change in my thirst or any problem healing because I haven't had any wounds lately.
I have been feeling kind of crummy and lazy for the last six months and it was just by fluke that I happened to notice my glucose level being raised as I again began the practice of testing with my partner's meter. I had not done this maybe since last year.

The most probable reason may be of aging symptoms. It is better that you give it a check.Instead of living on predictions.

I would recommend a check up as well. There are also many other disorders that may cause tiredness. It may be something stupid as a simple lack of vitamins however, it is best to be checked out just rule out any conditions.

One of the easiest symptoms to notice is constant thirst. It seems like all you do is drink because you're so thirsty. You also have to go to the bathroom a lot. You also loose a lot of weight. The first month my sister thought she had it she lost 30 pounds!
But if you aren't sure then see your doctor. Luckily, diabetes is easy to diagnose.

From what I have heard, constant thirst and tiredness are two major symptoms. (I did not know that it can also be accompanied with quick weight loss though.) Wounds taking too long to heal up indicate a more advanced stage.

I've read that nerve pain or numbness is also a sign--especially in the feet. Has anyone experienced this before being diagnosed? I used to think that I was becoming a pre-diabetic when sleeping and getting numbness in my hands. Recently, however, I found out that my numbness is due to spinal issues from a car accident I had years ago.

When in doubt it is always best to check with your doctor. It's an easy test, getting easier. There's no reason to play games with deciding if you have it or not.
Not everyone gets all the symptoms, if you don't you're lucky -- so far. Please go to get it checked and your doc might be able to make sure that you are never bothered with the symptoms.

definately - always see your dr if you think you may have it. another thing for women is if they had gesgtational diabetes - they are more likely to develop type 2 later on.

Try doing a daily log test. This many doctors appreciate.
Test fasting in teh Am, two hours after a meal, before dinner and before bed and a 3Am test if you can manage it.
This will give them a base to look at.
Just because you are not showing thirst or hunger you shoudl still be on alert that something might be going on.
Keep tabs on wounds, feeling osf sleepiness, dry skin, blurry vision, irritability can also be small indicators as well.

One of the signs of diabetes is high glucose level, but sugar level is normally high because of certain reasons.
Other signs are frequent voiding, constant thirst, over eating but losing weight, and fatigue.

The important thing to do is to calm down and not panic. Try not to start jumping to conclusions about what you think is going on with your body. Schedule a visit with your doctor and until then, try to live as healthily as possible.
